What is Puppy School?
Puppy School is a set of six, weekly puppy training classes, each lasting one hour. The comprehensive curriculum has been carefully designed to take you through all the training basics, giving you a great foundation for life with your new puppy, or for any further training classes or dog sport you choose to do later.
Small class sizes (maximum 6 puppies, to ensure that you get personal, tailored coaching) covering all the basics, including recall, loose lead walking, how to greet other dogs, and how to help your puppy to settle and be calm.

About Puppy School
can my puppy come to puppy school?
Puppy School is for fully vaccinated puppies up to 20 weeks old at the start of the course.
We encourage you to bring your puppy to classes as soon as your vet has said it is safe for them to mix with others (i.e. when their vaccinations have ‘taken’ sufficiently). By keeping pups older than 20 weeks out of classes, we create a safer environment for the young pups, making them free to relax and learn.
What training methods are used?
At Puppy School, we pride ourselves on only using modern, reward-based training techniques based on the science behind behaviour to achieve great results. treats, games and praise are used to encourage puppies to be well behaved. No bullying or rough handling is tolerated. In fully appreciating and understanding canine behaviour, we work hard to make sure you and your puppy have the best possible life together.
What’s the Puppy Club?
This private area of the Puppy School website (access given on booking) contains week-by-week guidance, including videos on all techniques used in puppy classes, together with tips and tricks to help you easily and quickly learn all the skills you need. Use it to enhance your learning journey or in case you have to miss a class and need to catch up.
Also via our incredible Good Puppy Pages, you can get amazing guidance on puppy issues of all kinds to help you raise a well-adjusted, happy and responsive puppy, using expert opinion, scientific evidence and the latest ideas. We want you and your puppy to have the best lives possible and The Puppy Club will help you achieve this.
What’s included?
As well as your 6, hour-long group classes, you’ll be sent a Nature’s Menu welcome the Puppy School Manual so you can read back through class sessions and find out what you need to practise that week. You’ll also get exclusive access to The Puppy Club.
The background of Puppy School
Puppy School Worcester provides a comprehensive programme which has been carefully designed to take you through all the obedience basics giving you a good foundation for life with your new puppy.
Puppy School is founded by APBC registered behaviourist and author Gwen Bailey. Your tutors regularly attend seminars and conferences run by leading trainers/behaviourists in order to keep up to date with the latest science behind animal behaviour and training.
The puppy training exercises gradually progress from easy to more complex over a period of six weekly sessions lasting one hour. We help you to build on your puppy’s understanding and reliability each week.
We want to give your puppy the best start possible so we educate puppies to have good manners, to be friendly with adults, children and other puppies and to respond to basic commands.
Your experienced Puppy School Tutor will be on hand throughout the course to help you with any behavioural problems you may be experiencing. At the end of the six-week course, your puppy will graduate and receive a very special Puppy School rosette and certificate for completing the course.
